Member Spotlight: Rebecca McAllister, Co-Founder of The Active Reader
Rebecca is the Co-Founder of The Active Reader, where she’s on a mission to help children learn to read with joy and confidence. This year, she launched The Active Reader’s 30-Week Early Childhood Reading Curriculum. A structured, play-based program designed to give young children the strong literacy foundation they deserve.
After realizing how common this gap was, Rebecca decided to build what was missing: a curriculum that combines structure and play to create an intentional approach to early reading.
Since launching, her work has supported thousands of families and educators, while also giving her the chance to support her own children in the most meaningful way. From letter-sound recognition to confidence at storytime, The Active Reader is changing the way we teach literacy.

I changed the theme this week from 'Reset' to 'Get Set'. Because here's the thing...I don't want to reset to a previous version of myself. Or start from where or what I was doing before. I want to 'Get Set' with where I am now, align with intention, and move forward with clarity and purpose.
